NGOs and Companies That Are Changing Society
5 Tips with María José Alepuz (MBA ‘92), Director of the Portolà Foundation
Collaboration between NGOs and the business world is growing day by day. At a time when the existing needs vastly outweigh the resources available to address them, companies and non-profits are joining forces to pursue joint responses to the social and environmental challenges we must face as a society.
Businesses view these collaborations as a powerful ally that can help them improve their market positioning, promote particular values among their stakeholders, attract and retain talent, and generate engagement with the wider community. Little by little, we are seeing how important it is for companies to establish a business collaboration strategy with other players in the market.
These partnerships are a source of great possibility. In a globalised world where the rules of the game are tougher than ever before, links and collaborative networks are the key to progress.
This is the view set out for us by María José Alepuz, who has worked in the third sector for more than 28 years, including 24 years spent managing social economy entities. Over the course of her career, she has seen the non-profit sector from multiple perspectives and built bridges with the business community.
The Portolà Foundation has participated in the Esade Alumni Pro Bono Consultants programme on multiple occasions.
